Damp heat encourages sweat to flush out ingrained dirt while bringing oxygen rich blood to renew the skin. Adding fresh herbs and  spices to warm water helps release their healing powers in the steam. Enjoy their aromatic healing powers as you do a facial sauna this week!

Ingredients:
Orange peel
Dried rose petals
Lavender
Fennel seeds

Additionally add according to your skin type:
Oily skin: rosemary or licorice root
Dry skin: chamomile or bay leaf
Blemished skin: lemongrass or dandelion root
Normal skin: thyme

Method:
Use as many of the base herb/spices as you can. Additionally add the herb by your skin type. Boil about 5 cups of water in a non-metallic pan. Add two handfuls of the herbs/spice blend. Cover and let boil for a few minutes. Turn off the heat and let it cool down to a comfortable temperature.

Drape a towel over your head and face to enjoy this heavenly facial sauna! Alternately you can soak several wash cloths in this hot herb-infused water, wring out  and place on your face for about 5 minutes. Replace the cloths as they cool down. Pat your face dry and give a cool splash of toner or water.
