With full lives and being always on the go, many of us have little or no time to care for aching feet. Calluses and corns have become a part of our daily lives.
Take a few minutes this week to cool, refresh, and rejuvenate tired feet with this wonderful foot bath and scrub
Relaxing foot bath
5 drops lavender essential oil
2 drops rosemary essential oil
1 sprig rosemary with leaves broken into pieces
3 drops tea tree oil
Add luke warm water to a foot basin or small plastic tub. Add the above ingredients. Gently swish. Add a layer of marbles or pebbles. Soak your tired feet at the end of a long day for 10 - 15 minutes enjoying rolling your feet on the marbles. Finish with a cold water rinse. Dry your feet.
Time permitting go ahead and give yourself the following foot pampering foot scrub
Foot Scrub
1 tsp almond oil
1 tsp jojoba oil (optional)
2 tsp Adaara's herbal ubtan (alternatively you can use 1 tsp fullers earth mixed with 1 tsp rock salt)
3 drops lavender essential oil
2 drop lemon essential oil
The herbal ubtan (or the fullers earth mix) will help buff away rough skin. The essential oils are cleansing while the almond and jojoba oils are moisturizing.
Mix the almond and jojoba oils. Add in the essential oils. Make a paste with the ubtan (or fullers earth mix) using this oil base. Sit on the edge of the bathtub and massage your clean, damp feet with this scrub, paying attention to rough callused areas. rinse your feet well with warm soapy water.
Lavender essential oil is anti-microbial and helps soothe any itching, irritation and inflammation. Tea tree oil is a powerful antifungal.
